ABIDJAN: Ivory Coast will end forward sales of its 2017/18 cocoa crop in August, a month earlier than originally planned, two sources at the Coffee and Cocoa Council (CCC) said on Wednesday.
It will also limit total volumes auctioned to 1.2 million to 1.25 million tonnes amid concerns flooding could cut early output.
"We've verified this information with our teams on the ground. We think that the fears are real and a 20 percent drop is realistic at this stage," one of the sources, who asked not to be named, said.
