The NA Standing Committee on Environment discussed the policy on the mangroves forests and preservation of ecosystem in Sindh. The committee appreciated the briefing but showed concern over the depletion of mangroves forests and preservation of ecosystem in Sindh. The meeting was held on Monday in the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Raja Muhammad Asad Khan, MNA.
To devise proper strategy for the preservation of mangroves forests and ecosystem, the chairman formed a sub-committee to be headed by Marvi Memon and having three members namely Yasmeen Rehman, Palwasha Khan and Syed Tayyab Hussain. The committee suggested to the ministry to lift ban from the forest management to avoid illegal transportation of forest wood.-PR
