Trading Corpora-tion of Pakistan (TCP) has finalised contracts for the purchase of some 0.5 million bales aimed to stabilise the cotton prices in the domestic market. Sources in TCP said that the number of total cotton bales so far contracted by TCP has increased and reached to the extent of 543,200 bales, out of which some 376,200 cotton bales are from Punjab and some 166,600 bales are from Sindh region.
As regard dispatches, a quantity of 42,099 bales has already arrived at TCP's Karachi godown as well as Multan godowns as on December 30, 2008, they added.
