Executive District Officer (EDO) Health and District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Attock recovered illegal stock of life saving medicines worth thousands of rupees from a room of duty medical officer in a surprise raid conducted at tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital Hasanabdal on Tuesday late night.
EDO Health Dr Syed Muhammad Hussain Naqvi told local newsmen here on Wednesday that after the public complaints about alleged misappropriation of expensive life saving drugs, he along with DMO Shahid Farooq conducted raid at THQ hospital Hasanabdal on last night and recovered expensive life saving medicines of thousands of rupees from the room of duty medical officer after breaking its locks.
The duty medical officer was not present at the hospital at that time, while on query, the duty staff have expressed their complete ignorance over the situation as they were not aware that why the huge quantity of medicines were stored there.
The matter was reported to District Co-ordination Officer Attock Captain Zaqib Zafar (Retd) accordingly for further action, he maintained. The DCO has constituted a two member inquiry committee comprising on DMO Farooq and Dr Dost Muhammad of THQ hospital Pindigheb. The inquiry committee has been asked to probe the matter in detail and submit its report to the DCO office, EDO added.
