There was no let up in selling pressure at the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) on Thursday where LSE-25 index further down by 41.37 points amid ascending transaction volume. The LSE-25 index closed at 1450.57 points against 1491.94 points of Wednesday, while transaction volume improved to 3.799 million shares, as compared to previous trading turnover of 3.359 million shares.
Out of total 102 traded Scrips, 27 closed in positive column, 23 landed in minus column while 52 stayed glued to their previous values. Among the gainers, PPL appreciated by Rs 5.03, Packages Limited gained Rs 3.82, while FFC, Kot Addu Power, SNGPL, Nishat Mills and Askari Bank got Rs 2.97, Rs 1.39, Rs 1.07, Rs 1.05, and Re 1.00, respectively. In the negative column, Pakistan Oil Fields, Adamjee Insurance, HBL, Service Industries Limited, NBP and Engro Chemical declined by Rs 5.12, Rs 5.09, Rs 3.74, Rs 3.04, Rs 2.51 and Rs 1.45, respectively. NIB Bank Limited was the market leader whose 689,000 shares changed hands; followed by Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim with 474,000 shares.
