Six flights of returning Hajis awaited at Multan Airport have been delayed, while 21 such flights have so far brought home, 2,100 Hajis belonging to the South Punjab region. Deputy Director Haj, Haji Noor Muhammad Soomro, told newsmen that three flights had to be diverted to Lahore between December 28-30 due to the heavy fog.
"Some 355 returning pilgrims were transported by buses from Lahore to Multan, while their luggage was conveyed to Multan by PIA cargo later", he said. The last Haj flight is expected on January 13, he said, adding that flights were being delayed due to the present inclement weather.
