The Lahore Businessmen Association for Rehabilitation of the Disabled (Labard) on Friday extended medical assistance to more than 50 disabled persons at a medical camp established here at its office. The medical camp where Dr Shehla Asad carried out a detailed check-up of the disabled persons also referred some of the needy persons to different City hospitals.
While artificial limbs and wheel chairs were provided to a few handicapped persons. The medical camp was a part of Labard services, which are being provided to the ailing disabled persons without any cost. Labard is also providing cost-free education, skill training employment and Qarz-e-Hasna. The Labard is bearing all expenses by its own and its governing body members are providing all funds.
The Labard is also organising camps in different parts of the city since long to create awareness about their rights so that more and more disabled persons could be benefited from the services being offered by the Labard. Naghmana Javed said on the occasion that Labard members are working without any personal interest. They said that though the rehabilitation of disabled is a big challenge but if all play their due role, this challenge could be coped, he added.
