Hurriyet leaders in occupied Kashmir, have paid glowing tributes to the martyrs who fell to the bullets of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Sopore on January 6, 1993.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference(APHC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani and Muhammad Azam Inqalabi in their separate statement issued in occupied Srinagar on Tuesday, said that Kashmiri martyrs sacrificed their lives for a sacred cause and these sacrifices would not be allowed to go waste, KMS reported.
They deplored that no action has been taken so far against the killers of the innocent people despite passing of sixteen years. The Hurriyet leaders maintained that the ongoing movement would be taken to its logical conclusion. They appealed the international community to help resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris' aspirations and relevant United Nations resolutions.
It is worth mentioning here that more than 55 people were martyred, hundreds of shops and houses gutted down and property worth crores of rupees was destroyed by the BSF troops in Sopore on January 6, 1993.
