The IBM Pakistan has expanded its 'Kidsmart Early learning Programme.' An announcement to this effect was made in a statement of the organisation here on Tuesday. It said this was IBM's third successful year in rolling out their world-wide KidSmart programme in Pakistan.
The statement further pointed out that "this sets as a great achievement for IBM Pakistan as now we are partnering with various NGOS in donating these innovative learning units for their Government schools." The IBM Pakistan has donated four KidSmart Units to Edhi Foundation at Bilguis Edhi Female Child Home.
The IBM Pakistan is also expanding this programme in Islamabad, where it has donated these early learning units to Kaghan Memorial Trust. The statement said that each IBM KidSmart Early Learning Centre consisted of colourful and durable 'Little Tikes' desk and bench seats for children working in groups of two or three with award-wining educational software and a colour printer.
The centres are supported by Teachers' Guide, online training and multilingual website for teachers and parents. In addition teachers who have been involved in this programme can participate in collaborative professional development, web-based tools, which support effective communications and collaboration.
