Attack at Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s old city

Three people were wounded in a shooting attack near the entrance to the Temple Mount complex in Jerusalem's Old City on Friday morning. Police said that assailants at the scene were killed.

According to foreign media reports, Police reported that the three armed attackers shot at police officers on duty, then fled to the mosque on the Temple Mount compound. They were pursued and shot dead by security forces. Police recovered two Carl Gustav rifles and a pistol from the bodies of the attackers.

Jerusalem chief of Police Yoram Halevi has ordered the Temple mount closed, evacuated, and Friday prayers cancelled. All gates to the Old City of Jerusalem had been closed.
