Federal Law Minister Farooq H Naek on Saturday briefed Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani about repealing of NAB Law and introduction of proposed law - Holders of Public Office Accountability Act.
Both discussed salient features of this law and decided that the proposed draft will be placed before a committee of the Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister, comprising Advisor to PM on Interior and the Ministers for Law & Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, Inter-Provincial Co-ordination and Labour & Manpower. According to some media reports the government is considering replacing NAB with an Independent Accountability Commission (ICT) that would be set up with the promulgation of law.
