Provincial Assembly's Standing Committee on Food on Saturday demanded of the Punjab and Federal governments for early provision of Rs 0.2 million tons white wheat so that the flour millers could blend it with available imported wheat to make it edible and manageable.
The meeting of the committee was held here at conference room of the provincial assembly on Saturday with MPA Sikandar Irfan in the chair, and attended by MPAs Mufti Syed Janan, Nargis Samin, Mohammad Taimoor Khan, Muhammad Zamin Khan, Qaiser Wali Khan, Provincial Secretary Food, Director Food and other concerned officers. The meeting thoroughly discussed the matters pertaining to supply of sub-standard wheat to the flour millers and suggested a number of steps to address the complaints of flour millers.
