The pace of implementation of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Programme (BBSYDP) in Sindh was reviewed in detail at a high level meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at CM House here on Friday.
The Chief Minister emphasised upon the participants of meeting the need for full implementation of the programme which, he said, is aimed at not only imparting training to the youth in different skills but also provide them jobs in government and private organisations as well as opportunities abroad.
He directed that the training programmes started by various departments under this programme be fully monitored and stressed on better liaison between the implementing organisations as Steering Committee. He said that rightful and positive training be given for success of the programme.
He said he would personally visit the training centres and see their performance. Qaim Ali Shah said the departments, which have not yet started training programmes, should start the same immediately and complete the training process sooner. According to details some 58,684 trainees are being imparted training including 32,864 from government departments and 25,820 from private sector.
The meeting was told that six departments - agriculture, archives, livestock, works and services and forest have started training 10,164 youth while training of 17,575 youth is starting next week by education, health and IT departments and another 10,000 would be imparted training through private sector.
In the second phase, it was informed 20,945 youth would get training in the agriculture, livestock, transport, culture, women development, irrigation and power and planning and development departments. The meeting was told that so far 27,739 youth have been issued offer letters and Rs 3107.46 million earmarked for payment of monthly stipends to trainees out of which Rs 1,126.93 million have been released.
