Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has formed Crisis Management Cell (CMC) to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the industry. This was decided in a meeting at the Punjab Industrial Estate Management Development Company here on Saturday.
Which was also attended by the representatives of Lseco and the industrial associations including Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, Township Industrial Association, Sheikhupura Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ferozepur Road Industrial Association and Katarbund Road Industrial Association. During the meeting, the representatives of the industrial associations told the PIE chairman that due to massive unscheduled load shedding, the industrial process was fast coming to a grinding halt and if some immediate solution was not found, the industry would not be able to survive.
The Lesco Chairman Akram Arain, speaking on the occasion, admitted that despite Lesco efforts, the industrial units could not get uninterrupted supply and the formation of Crisis Management Cell is part of the company's measures to facilitate the industry. He said the Cell has the representatives of both the industry and the Lesco.
