Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) is holding a two-day workshop on 'Textile Engineering Education' on January 12-13 here at PEC headquarters.
According to a press release here on Saturday, main objectives of the workshop is to review the existing course of study/curriculum, identify laboratories and equipment requirement, decide on the criteria for selection of multi-disciplinary faculty and other issues like students' admission, mechanism for industry-academia interaction etc.
The national workshop will be inaugurated by Advisor to Prime Minister and HEC Chairperson Ms Shahbaz Wazir Ali. Textile engineering was a multi-disciplinary sector and would therefore require focused approach with clear objectives and desired competence of the engineering graduates to be produced, the press release added.
