KFC launches its own smart phone

After the successful food chain of Kentucky Fried Chicken, Colonel Sanders have recently launched a new smart phone.

The fast-food chain released their limited-edition smart phone to honor its 30 years opening in China. Partnering with Huawei, KFC launched an innovative Enjoy 7 Plus Android device that is embossed with the laser image of KFC’s founder, Colonel Sanders. Not only the image, but the phone also contains KFC app and Colonel-based wallpapers.

The new smart phone is red in color, denoting the brand’s official color theme. Along with 5.5-inch screen and a 425 Snapdragon processor, the phone contains 3GB RAM and 32GB storage that can be expanded into 128GB through microSD card slot. Having Android 7.0, 12MP camera and 3,020mAh battery, the phone also has a fingerprint scanner on its back and just above the Colonel’s image, informs The Guardian.

There is also a built-in KFC music application that permits the user to create and share music with any of the 4000 KFC restaurants all over China.

Forbes reported that KFC made the announcement via its Weibo page. Translated in English from Chinese, the announcement is as follows:

The ‘suck’ refers to the restaurants slogan ‘finger-licking good’ while the ’10 thousand K’ refers to the 100,000 K dollars – the restaurant’s digital currency.

The company is making just 5000 of these smart phones that will cost 1,099 yuan ($162 USD) from retailer Tmall from 13 July.
