The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has opened media registration for its 42nd Annual Meeting to be held on May 2-5 in Bali, Indonesia. Some 3,000 participants, including government leaders, central bank governors and finance ministers, as well as representatives from the private sector, media and civil society groups from around the world are expected to attend the Annual Meeting.
Attendance at the annual meeting is by invitation only, said ADB press release received here on Wednesday. Invitations have been sent out and ADB has requested media participants to register as early as possible with online registration remaining open until April 18.
Members of the media who have not received an invitation and would like to attend the meeting can apply for accreditation at http://www.adb.org/AnnualMeeting/2009/contact2.asp or e-mail Micheline Millar at [email protected] or Gilda Nanquil at [email protected]. The ADB's Annual Meeting 2009 will take stock of progress made under ADB's Strategy 2020, its long term strategic framework for 2008-2020, which was formally adopted last year.
The meeting will also include a series of seminars on major issues including Asia's response to the global financial crisis, progress on the Millennium Development Goals, climate change and regional integration. Members of the media are invited to cover the meeting and participate in seminars, the press release added.
