In an operation against land grabbers in Johar Town area, the staff of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) retrieved a plot here on Thursday. According to a LDA's spokesman, they recovered a plot No 566 in block J-3, measuring five marlas, by demolishing a house that had been constructed there without legitimate ownership.
It also sealed two more houses, built on plots No 647 and 648 in J-2 block, on the same pretext. The LDA staff also demolished six shops in Sunny Park Housing Schemes as well as three shops in Aabpara Housing Scheme, Raiwaind Road. These shops had been constructed on residential plots, in contravention of building regulations of the Lahore Development Authority.
Meanwhile, in connection with the on-going anti-encroachment drive, the LDA staff demolished some 32 platforms, ramps, and other structures that had been illegally set up along Peko Road from Model Town Link Road to Pindi Stop. All these encroachments were causing impediments in movement by pedestrians, flow of traffic as well as quick disposal of storm water from the area.
