Dr Asim Hussain, Advisor to PM for Petroleum & Natural Resources, Mahmood Saleem Mahmood, Federal Secretary P&NR visited OGDCL on Friday. The advisor emphasised the need to step up the exploration, drilling and production activities in the country.
He urged that OGDCL should proactively pursue offshore drilling and exploration of oil and gas. Besides, concessions to be made in Balochistan, which has vast potential for oil and gas. The advisor instructed that all exploration, drilling activities presently undertaken by OGDCL should be completed within the timeframe fixed by government.
He also reviewed the targets already set for different exploration and production activities for the year 2008-2009 and 2009-10. Dr Asim stated that the present government has assigned highest priority to the development of the energy resources, for the socio-economic development of the country.-PR
