The commodities depicted mix pattern locally and internationally for the second week in a row on better supplies and low demand such as oil, metal prices, grains, sugar and raw rubber etc locally speaking in this trading on Monday gur, wheat, guwar and Irri white fluctuated.
The prices of gur low type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 4,200 while the better type was put at Rs 3,300, wheat with bardana old and new shed Rs 50 to Rs 2,700 while the better type was quoted at Rs 2,715, guwar Sindh after sufficient long time showed variation by rising sharply by Rs 150 to Rs 2,400 while the better type quoted at Rs 2,500, guwar Punjab low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2,300 while better type was up Rs 50 to Rs 2400.
A solo deal in Irri while broken was marked higher by Rs 100 to Rs 1,700. Elsewhere, chemicals were seen mixed as chemicals sodium sulphate closed lower by Re 1 to Rs 12, NJ Taiwan rose by Rs 4 to Rs 160, formic acid Germany shed Rs 2 to Rs 118 and Oxalic acid from China close down by Rs 2 to Rs 72, petroleum jelly sulphonic acid soft quoted at Rs 115 sulphonic acid hard shed Rs 7 to Rs 147, hydrosulphate China ended lower by Rs 8 to Rs 88 and same item from Germany was quoted lower at Rs 168, Acetic acid Taiwan rose by Rs 4 to Rs 86, and Korean quoted at Rs 83, hydrogen peroxide (35 percent) Taiwan rose by Rs 1.60 to Rs 39.60 and same item from Korea shed Re 1 to Rs 39.
On Tuesday commodities wholesale markets stayed inter resulting in no fluctuation in prices traders also thought may be supply and demand were matching. On Wednesday sharp rise in sugar prices was added feature which buyers murmured that it was not pushed up because of world trend but authorities failure to stabilise its prices. The rate was up by Rs 100 to Rs 3,700 while better type was marked at Rs 3,850, gur also roe by same amount to Rs 4,300 while Khandsari low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2,900, wheat new and old type with bardana shed Rs 100 to Rs 2,600 to Rs 2,675, cottoncakes in Punjab new and inferior type lost Rs 30 to Rs 800 while superior type shed Rs 15 to Rs 825. On Thursday, on the cereals side, wheat old (Bardana) continued decline, falling Rs 100 to Rs 2500 and new quality of same item shed the equal amount at Rs 2,515.
On the grams side, gram Australia followed suit and was down by Rs 50 to Rs 4,150-4,350, Bajra best type, however, gained Rs 75 to Rs 2,775 while the low type maintained the overnight level at Rs 1,800.
On the seed side, cottonseed oilcakes with bag low quality was up by Rs 35 to Rs 895 and best type also gained Rs 20 to Rs 900, they said. Other sectors remained unchanged in process of trading. No change was seen on the grain market on Friday as leading buyers were busy in Juma prayers. On Saturday, on the cereals side, Moong Punjab was lower by Rs 575 to Rs 3,075 in process of trading, sugar low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 3,750 while the better quality did not show any change at Rs 3,850, the said.
Khandsari low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3000 and good type was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 3,200, other items maintained the overnight levels, they said.
CHEMICALS (Per kg): Sodium sulphate edged down by Re 1 to Rs 12, NJ Taiwan moved lower by Rs 4 to Rs 160, formic acid Germany went down by Rs 2 to Rs 118 and oxalic acid China ended lower by Rs 2 to Rs 72.
PETROLEUM JELLY: Sulphonic acid soft was quoted at Rs 115 and Sulphonic acid hard moved downward by Rs 7 to Rs 147.
HYDROSULPHITE: China finished lower by Rs 8 to Rs 88 and Germany was quoted at Rs 168.
ACETIC ACID: Taiwan moved lower by 4 to Rs 86 and Korea was quoted at Rs 83.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (35 percent): Taiwan moved higher by Rs 1.60 to Rs 39.60 and Korea closed down by Re 1 to Rs 39.
The following variations were noted Ceylon raw rubber:
RAW RUBBER CEYLON (Per lb): Merryrub (Equivalent to RSS3) went up by Rs 8 to Rs 67, RSSV moved upward by Rs 8 to Rs 68, Merryrub (Equivalent to Crape) ended higher by Rs 10 to Rs 75 and Pale Crape TPC3 finished up by Rs 12 to Rs 77.
LATEX: Merrytax (28 kg) edged down by Rs 20 to Rs 480, Semnan Tex moved downward by Rs 20 to Rs 480 and Thai (G T) ended down by Rs 20 to Rs 480.
The following changes were noted in milk powder on Friday:
MILK POWDER SKIMMED (Per bag of 25-kgs): Irish skimmed edged down by Rs 1,000 to Rs 7,000, and Poland moved lower by Rs 300 to Rs 6,200.
Vegetable Corolac went lower by Rs 700 to Rs 8,300, Haleeb Veg ended down by Rs 600 to Rs 6,200 and Melco Veg moved higher by Rs 325 to Rs 6,825.
The following changes were noted in jute goods twine:
JUTE GOODS TWINE (Per kg): 20x3 brown ended up by Rs 3 to Rs 58, 16x3 CRT/Indus went higher by Rs 3 to Rs 58 and 40x2 brown moved upward by Rs 2 to Rs 52.
HESSIAN CLOTH (Per 91.44 meter): 45x10 Amin was quoted at Rs 2,400, 50x9 Thul moved higher by Rs 150 to Rs 2,300, 45x9 closed up by Rs 50 to Rs 2,300 and 50x8 Thul went upward by Rs 50 to Rs 2,050.
