South Korea's stock market is expected to see a technical rebound in the coming week on hopes of steps to stabilise financial markets, an analyst said Friday. "The market has already reflected negative factors this week, and investors are likely to move on the government's steps to stabilise financial markets," said Dongbu Securities analyst Lim Dong-Min.
He said the index may rise to 1,200 points. Over the week to January 16 the KOSPI shed 45.76 points or 3.87 percent to close at 1,135.20.
Lee Yun-Hak, a Woori Investment and Securities analyst, told Dow Jones Newswires the market would be fairly volatile next week, when many local and major overseas firms report fourth-quarter earnings.
