India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sees economic growth under pressure in the next fiscal year beginning April, after growth slowed in the current year amid the global credit crisis, the Economic Times reported. "Our problems will not be over in the current year.
The difficult period will continue into 2009/10," Singh said at an awards function in Mumbai, according to the newspaper. India's economy is expected to grow by 7-7.5 percent in the current fiscal year after growing about 9 percent for the last three years, a top finance ministry official said on Friday.
