The funeral prayer of Punjab University Department of Journalism, former chairman and renowned journalist Professor Dr Miskeen Ali Hijazi was offered here at University Law College, New Campus on Monday.
Acting Governor Punjab and Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Zahid Hussain Shah, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran, Jehangir Badr, Majeed Nizami, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami, Dr Mehdi Hassan, Professor Dr Shafiq Jallandhry, Professor Dr Mughees-ud-Din Sheikh, Dr Mujahid Ali Mansoori, PU former vice-chancellors, heads of teaching departments, principal officers and a large number of people of media community attended the funeral prayer.
Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran paid tremendous tributes to the academic and professional services of Dr Miskeen Ali Hijazi and termed his demise a non-bearable loss for PU and journalism field. He said that Dr Miskeen Ali was a true, straightforward and patriotic citizen along with being the best teacher.
He said Dr Miskeen always used to help others in his best possible way and he always helped the needy students financially. Dr Mujahid said that Dr Miskeen Ali Hajazi was very punctual and determined to his work and that's why he earned good name in education and journalism. Dr Miskeen Ali Hajazi was buried in university graveyard.
