As the Supreme Court (SC) resumed hearing the Panama Papers case on Monday, PTI counsel Naeem Bukhari claimed that there is discrepancy in Hassan and Hussain’s Nawaz statement. He also stated that Sharif family has more assets than their income, local media reported.

In his initial arguments, Bukhari said the Sharif family has failed to prove their statements regarding the Gulf Steel Mills in Dubai. The Gulf Steel Mills was not sold for 33 million Dirhams as claimed by Sharif’s family.

He added that JIT sought legal assistance from United Arab Emirates and Ministry of Justice UAE did not authenticated Gulf Steel Mill agreement which was reportedly signed on 14 April, 1980.

The Panama case Joint Investigation Team (JIT), formed in light of the apex court’s April 20 judgment to probe the Sharif family’s money trail, submitted its 60-day investigation report to the court on July 10.

The hearing of Panama Leaks case post JIT report submission started in Supreme Court today.
