On the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, essay writing, speech contest is in progress with the aim for promotion of education as well as for the moral and character building among the students. A colourful prize distribution ceremony was held at Post Graduate College for Girls at 6th road here on Monday.
Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Raja Fayyaz Sarwar was the chief guest on the occasion. Besides, Rawalpindi Intermediate and Secondary Education Chairman Dr Iftikhar Ahmed Baig, Rawalpindi Intermediate and Secondary Education Secretary Hamayun Iqbal, Principal Post Graduate College for Girls Waseem Sikander and a large number of parents and students attended the ceremony.
While addressing the participants, MPA Raja Fayyaz Sarwar appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif for promotion of education, saying that Mian Shahbaz Sharif had done a great job in field of education. He said Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif was taking keen interest in this sector. His efforts for the promotion of education were yielding good results, he added.
He said the Chief Minister allowed position holders stay at Punjab House Murree with full protocol, which also showed ample proof of his affiliation with education. He was of the view that such contest would be continued in future for producing the good students. Dr Iftikhar Ahmed Baig also highlighted the importance of essay writing and speech contest, adding that it was obligatory to shine the hidden abilities of the students. The chief guest distributed cash prizes among the winner students.
