ISLAMABAD: Addressing the media after Naeem Bukhari presented his case before the court, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudry said on Monday that their counsel has pleaded the Supreme Court to disqualify Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from Parliament and transfer  the cases against Sharif family to an accountability court.

Following the arguments placed by Naeem Bukhari before the special implementation bench, Chaudry said that premier's daughter, Maryam Nawaz, faces criminal proceedings for lying to the JIT. However, the respondents will present their case in tomorrow's hearing.

As per the latest development in the hearing,  Bukhari in his initial arguments stated that the Sharif family has failed to prove their statements regarding the Gulf Steel Mills in Dubai. The Gulf Steel Mills was not sold for 33 million Dirhams as claimed by Sharif’s family.

He added that JIT sought legal assistance from United Arab Emirates and Ministry of Justice UAE did not authenticated Gulf Steel Mill agreement which was reportedly signed on 14 April, 1980.

He also claimed that there is contradiction in the statements of Hassan and Hussain Nawaz. He also argued that Sharif family has more assets than their income.

The Panama case three-member implementation bench headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and comprising Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, began proceedings of the mega corruption case today morning at 9:30am.
