Chairman Task Force for essential items and administrator Punjab food support programme S A Hameed said here on Thursday that money orders of fifth instalment of financial support to 1.4 million deserving families have been dispatched. He was talking to provincial legislators from Lahore at a meeting in the Commissioner Office Lahore.
Commissioner Lahore Division, Khusro Pervez and DCO Lahore Sajjad Bhutta were also present on this occasion. Hameed stated that over 1,86,000 families had been dispatched money orders in Lahore division till date while verification process of rest of the received application are in process.
He said that the Pakistan Post authorities have been issued special directives for re-sending money orders that came back due to incomplete address or any other issue. He said that the government was spending a huge amount as subsidy in 'sasti roti' scheme. He asked the members of the Punjab Assembly to monitor supply of flour on tandoors themselves.
