Chairman, National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (Navtec) Adnan A. Khawaja has said that his organisation will continue to collaborate with Pakistan Army to produce technical manpower of high quality.
Talking to Lieutenant General Ijaz Ahmed Bakhshi, Corps Commander, 4 Corps & Chairman, Lahore Institute of Technical Education (Lite) at the Corps Headquarters, Adnan Khawaja said that properly trained workforce can steer the country out of the economic crises.
He said, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and his government lay greater emphasis on the technical training of the youth in accordance with the local, regional and international market needs. He was of the opinion that a considerable increase in foreign remittances can be achieved by exporting highly skilled workforce to foreign countries especially Middle East and Gulf Region.
"Our manpower is a great asset for the country provided it is properly trained and utilised in a productive manner", he added. During the meeting, Chairman, Navtec was informed that Lite has so far trained around 6,000 youth in different disciplines out of which 77 per cent have already got the jobs.
The Chairman appreciated the performance of Lite in imparting quality skill training to the students and expressed the confidence that the Institute will continue to work with same spirit, devotion and dedication. Later, the Corps Commander/Chairman, Lite, Lieutenant General Ijaz Ahmed Bakhshi presented a souvenir to Chairman, Navtec, Adnan A. Khawaja. Executive Director, Navtec, Muhammad Ather Tahir and Principal of Lite were also present during the meeting.-PR
