The District Officer (Health) Jhang, Dr Habib Ullah Sial raided a private clinic seized medicines stolen from the store of Rural Health Centre (RHC) Bagh and sent the case to anti-corruption establishment for further action against responsible health officials.
According to official sources, Sial conducted the raid on a tip off that the government medicines were being sold by a health official to a private clinic situated at Mohallah Jalalabad Jhang. The DO along with his team rushed to the clinic and found the dispenser of RHC Bagh selling the medicines stolen from its store.
In the meantime, the dispenser managed to escape. However the DO seized the medicines. Sial, when raided the RHC along with district drug inspector and deputy district officer, health for further investigation, found that medicines of the centre were being misappropriated during its distribution among deserving people by the lady health supervisor of National Health Programme with the connivance of store keeper and dispenser.
He further claimed in his reports that the Dispenser, Safdar Ali, Storekeeper, Liaquat Ali and LHS, Tahira Perveen were involved in misappropriation and theft of the government's medicines and DO also indicated poor control and involvement of RHC's in charge, Dr Ghulam Hussain in the case. On the DO's report, the Deputy Director of anti-corruption establishment has initiated an inquiry against the accused persons.
