The Karachi Port handled 120,221 tonnes of cargo including 86,095 tonnes of import and 34,126 tonnes of export, 2,856 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday. The freights comprised of 69,391 tonnes of dry cargo including 36,863 tonnes of general cargo; 17,126 tonnes of coal; 5,000 tonnes of scrap; 817 tonnes of seeds; 9,585 tonnes of cement and 50,830 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Four ships namely Hyun Jin Ks 3, Apl-Balbao, Jeu Orient and TS India sailed out to sea during the reported period. Eight vessels viz Apl-Balbao, MT Johar, Bauhinia Bridge, Le Rong, Industrial Crescent, Noor-e-Madina, Pacific Arrow, Perka and Petali Lady are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Bauhinia Bridge, Le Rong, Industrial Crescent and Oel Transworld expected to sail on Saturday while another three vessels viz Medhufaru, Uni Angel and Pacific Arrow are expected to sail on Sunday.
Six vessel viz Gulf Tiger, Lalazar, YM Improvement, Cap Gabriel, Lucky Carrier and Le Ding due to arrive on Saturday while nine ships namely Tiger Speed, Hanjin Ningbo, Sari, Bulk Arrow, Difco Chaser, Mol Ability, Sima Sahba, Cap Colorado and Celo Di Pisa are due to arrive on Sunday.
W/A total cargo volume of 63,742 tonnes including 48,892 tonnes of import 14,850 tonnes of export cargo and 2,739 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours on Saturday. The cargoes comprised of 8,100 tonnes of palm oil; 12,398 tonnes of phosphoric acid; 2,370 tonnes of cement; 2,908 tonnes of general cargo and 37,965 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Novazzano, CV Maersk Monatana and MT Al-Kortoubi are expected to sail on Saturday afternoon. A total of seven ships namely MSC Bulgaria, Saudi Diriyah, Al-Fujairah, Al-Barella, Nobil, Berd Yansk and Ben Aicha carrying containers, cement and phosphoric acid respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Seven vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano, CV Maersk Monatana, MV Zeynep-G, MV Dijks Gracht, MV Tai Prosperity, MT Pine Galaxy and MT Al-Kortoubi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil and phosphoric acid respectively during the report period.
Two container ships namely CV MSC Bulgaria and CV Al-Fujairah and chemicals carrier MT Ben Aicha are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Saturday. Two ships namely MT Sea Sky and MT SC Guangzhou carrying furnace oil and palm oil are due to arrive on Saturday while another two vessels viz MT Swat and MT Strilen with crude oil and palm oil are due to arrive on Sunday.
