A walk was held in the metropolis on Sunday in connection with the World Leprosy Day. It was organized under the auspices of the Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC). The walk started from near the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and terminated at the Regal Chowk.
It was also attended by Dr Ruth Pfau, Chief Executive Officer of MALC, Shakil Ahmed and a number of school children and others. The participants of the walk were carrying banners as well as placards. Meanwhile, patients' day will be held at the MALC on January 27and a visitors' day on January 28. According to an official of the MALC, Nasir A. malik, 53,000 patients have been registered at the MALC from all over the country.
