Exhibition carrying unique collection of tribal and antique furniture by KOH Wood Furniture and Art concluded here, on Sunday. The three-day exhibition was held under the auspices of Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) in Pakistan, displayed furniture of extraordinary carved and beautiful designs.
An exquisite variety of dressing tables, cupboards, vase stands, cradle, trunks, bed, cooking spoons, pots and mugs were exhibited to celebrate rich cultural heritage and art of the country.
The furniture collection carrying glimpses of art and culture of 200 years ago revived the memories of Stone Age and created soothing impact on the minds and hearts of visitors. The unusual aspects like sizes, designs and simplicity of the furniture was the main centre of attraction for the visitors who rarely even saw such collection.
"It was such a unique experience for me to see antique and tribal collection of furniture in contrast to the modern sophisticated and delicate items. The furniture showcased, was the true reflective of our past cultural asset", a visitor said while talking to APP. His Excellency Ali S. Awadh Asseri inaugurated the exhibition on Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the premises of SACM. The event was arranged to nurture the Pak-Saudi harmonious relationship which was the top agenda of Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission in Pakistan, Ali Asseri said.
The traditions and cultural values of both countries coincide with each other and this similarity signifies our closeness, he remarked. SACM is initiating an Arabic language teaching programme to facilitate the students who are eager to study Arabic literature and culture as well.
