The Director Manpower Training Sindh has informed that nine different development schemes have been taken into hand at the total cost of Rs 892.799 million while other two other schemes have been conceived at a cost of Rs 161.070 million which are yet to be got approved from the competent authority for the skill development of youths enabling them to earn their livelihood without difficulties.
In his departmental progress report, he said that in addition to one new scheme "Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Progamme" launched at a cost of Rs 482.339 million by Labour Department, eight other development schemes have also been taken into hand costing Rs 410.460 million.
He said that these schemes including repair and rehabilitation of building and introduction of new trades at Technical Training Centre Sukkur has been taken into hand costing Rs 7.771 million, construction of building and provision of machinery/equipment for existing Trades at Technical Training Centre Latifabad-Hyderabad (Rs 23.200 million), construction of Annexe addition/renovation of the building of the Directorate of Manpower and Training Sindh Karachi (Rs 22.050 million), establishment of New Technical Training Centre and construction of building consideration and improvement of existing Technical Training Centres including Staff residences in Sindh (Rs 33.191 million), construction of building for Employment Exchange in Sindh (Phase-I) (Rs 50.081 million), establishment of Vocational Training Centre for Boys/Girls at Northern Bypass Sindh Small Industrial Estate Karachi (Rs 39.629 million), Vocational and skilled training for rehabilitation of prisoners in Sindh (Rs 166.635 million), and the scheme for Technical/Vocational Training Programme for Employment of youths in Sindh was being implemented (Rs 67.903 million).
He said that PC-I of two other schemes including establishment of Technical Training Centre Mithi for training skilled workers required for coal mining in Thar at the cost of Rs 40.00 million, and the construction of building and provision of latest equipment for existing seven youth vocational centres in Sindh at the cost of Rs 121.070 million have been completed and same were yet to be got approved while PC-I of establishment of Technical Education and Vocational Training Centre Bhira City District Nausheor-feroze at its estimated cost of Rs 67.903 million, and the PC-I of one other scheme for establishment of Skill Development Centre for Oil and Gas Technologies at Sukkur was under preparation.
