The secretary finance Punjab has released a grant amounting Rs 116 million on account of salaries of assistant lecturers recruited on ad hoc basis. Education department sources said here on Tuesday that a total of 2,422 assistant lecturers have been recruited across the province, and the sum has been released for payment of their six months' salaries.
As many as 85 of these assistant lecturers from Khanewal district recruited on ad hoc basis will be paid six months salary worth Rs 4.2 million. The young lecturers, have Masters qualification and were recruited by the government at a salary of Rs 8,000 per month, to provide jobs to the unemployed educated youth.
