Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences organised its closing ceremony of Sports Gala 2009 on January 24, at National Training and Coaching Centre. Hockey Olympian Qamar Ibraheem was the chief guest, whereas Arshad Islam, Member Managing Committee and President Commecs Old Students' Association, was the Guest of Honour of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest highly appreciated and admired the college management and students for organising such a superb sports event. He deemed the organisation of such events as being very helpful in grooming students.' multi-faceted personality.
After the formal commencement of the programme, a beautiful March Past was exhibited by the students who were specially trained for that purpose. The students in their colourful T-shirts with excited faces and sparkling eyes showed great skill and discipline in the March Past.
THE EVENTS OF THE FINAL WERE: Boys' 100-Metre race, Girls' 100M race, Boys' 200M race, Girls' 200M race, Tug of War, Staff's (Men) 50M race, staff's (Women) 50M race, technical officials race, Parents' (Men) 50M race, Boys' 400M race, Girls' 4x100M Relay Race and Boys' 4x100M Relay Race.
The chief guest distributed the prizes among the winners of the Finals. College shields were presented to the chief guest by Commecs Educational Trust Executive Director Muhammad Arif Dossal and CIBES Principal Cdr. Retd Abdul Razaq PN at the end of the programme. Later on, the chief guest declared the Sports Gala 2009 closed.-PR
