Pakistan and its people will stand with Palestinians in their just struggle for independence in accordance with the UN resolution. This was stated by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nawabzada Malik Amad Khan while handing over the relief consignment to Jaser Ahmad Mahmud Mohammad, the Charge d´ affaires of the State of Palestine here on Tuesday.
The relief consignment was dispatched on the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to the Palestinians and people of Gaza by a C-130 aircraft at PAF Chaklala Air Base.
While condemning Israelis brutalities, the minister said "the President, Prime Minister, parliament and the whole nation have condemned such aggressive attitude by Israelis and we will stand with our Palestinian brothers". A number of people have been rendered homeless and endured heavy financial and physical losses due to Israeli aggression, he said while assuring government's all out support for the Palestinians in this hour of the need.
In the first phase, about 10 tons of life saving drugs were sent, which were direly needed by Palestinians who suffered Israeli atrocities, he informed. While in the second phase, he, said 100 metric tons medicines and another 100 tons rice and food will be sent by sea as per the direction of the President and the Prime Minister.
Jaser Ahmad Mahmud Mohammad, the Charge d´ affaires of the State of Palestine, on the behalf of Palestinian people and the government thanked the minister and government of Pakistan saying, "We are thankful for the relief packages and these will help the people who are suffering due to Israel's aggression and oppression". Pakistan has always supported the Palestinians from the beginning, he said while expressing the hope that the country will continue to support in future as well.
