Three young Pakistani microbiologists have won international awards in the field of Microbiology. The first position was attained by Miss Shazia Naz of the Marine Fisheries Department, part of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Karachi, Pakistan, who was awarded the title of Oxoid Young Microbiologist of the Year 2007/2008.
Shazia wins £1,000 and the opportunity to attend the 2009 International Association of Food Protection Meeting to be held in Grapevine, Texas, USA. The other two winners include Arsalan Saeed Zai, microbiologist and GMP co-ordinator at Cadbury Pakistan Ltd and Habib Beenish, Microbiologist at Dawn Bread, Karachi for their outstanding performance in the field of Microbiology.-PR
