Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that FIA has completed its investigations regarding the probe into Mumbai attacks and now the law ministry would review it. He said after reviewing, the law ministry would send that dossier to foreign office and we will share our findings not only with India but with the entire world.
He expressed these views while talking to media men here at local airport on Saturday evening. Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that anguish is found in the people of India and they want swift action from us. Pakistan has said on the very first day that we are serious on this issue and will fully co-operate with them regarding the investigations. "They would be satisfied then when we will share our findings with them," he stated.
He said that terrorists are the common enemies of both Pakistan and India. Today world is getting our viewpoint and we hope that the tension between Pakistan and India will diffuse when the investigation report would be disclosed.
Talking about the new US administration, he said that the new administration wants to strengthen the democratic institutions and departments, which is a very positive thing. He said that I am expecting to meet with the US envoy to Pakistan and south Asia, Richard Hauler very soon in Munich, Germany and would inform him about the counter affects of US drone attacks on tribal areas. Obama's administration would also hold meeting with the military and political leadership to discuss the situation of this region. He said that Biden Loger Bill has not cancelled and it would be signed soon.
To a question about Pak-Afghan relationship, Foreign Minister said that a dramatic change has come in the Pak-Afghan relations because earlier it were tense during the reign of Musharraf. "We have signed a joint declaration with Afghanistan during the visit of President Asif Zardari on January 6 which would be helpful for both the countries regarding the regional connectivity and bilateral trade," he added.
Responding to a question about the Kashmir Issue, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that it is a very serious matter and its difficulties are before us. From the last 60 years, different governments tried to solve this issue but the important thing is that such steps should be taken which would be beneficial for the Kashmiri's and give them relief. While hailing the role of China, he said that China is our very old intimate friend and we appreciated its support to Pakistan.
Talking about the Swat situation, he said that there are some people who are challenging the writ of government. "What kind of a religion it is to burn the girls schools and to slaughter the innocent people," said he, adding, government has decided not to compromise with terrorism and would restore the writ of government.
About the investigation of assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, he said that we had met with Secretary General of the UN Security Council, Ban Ki Moon in New York and requested him to form a commission to probe in this case. It is good news for all the Pakistanis that Secretary General is coming on February 4 to Pakistan and in which he would announce the commission regarding this case.
To a question about Pak-India composite dialogue, he said that we wished that these dialogues should be commenced soon but realistically India, rather the entire world would expect us to take some action on Mumbai attacks.
