A divisional protest meeting of brick kiln workers demanded of the chief minister to order local administration to get act upon government's notification under which brick kiln owners had been made bound to pay Rs 442 per 1000 bricks to the workers.
The meeting which was presided by Labour Party district secretary Tariq Mahmood in Iqbal Nagar, Toba Tek Singh was addressed by Punjab National Workers Party general secretary Advocate Rana Azam, PML-N district labour wing president Mustafa Paras, Peoples Labour Bureau district chief Rana Muzaffar, Labour Qaumi Movement president Muhammad Shabbir, and others. They stated that kiln owners were paying only Rs 300 to the workers.
