The PML (N) leader, Sher Azam Khan was killed and his wife and two children injured when some unknown assailants ambushed his vehicle in Kalabat village in Haripur district on Sunday night.
SHO Kalabat Township, Mursaleen Khan told APP by phone that Sher Azam, holding portfolio of NWFP PML-N secretary revenue was on his way to Islamabad with family members when his vehicle was intercepted by the killers near Chongi No 1 by spraying volley of bullet at them. Sher Azam died on the spot while his wife and two children sustained critical bullet wounds. They were shifted to nearby hospital. The killers managed their escape good from the scene by taking advantage of darkness.
