The Karachi Port handled 141,626 tonnes of cargo including 71,338 tonnes of import and 70,288 tonnes of export, 1,944 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The freights comprised of 90,905 tonnes of dry cargo including 65,299 tonnes of general cargo; 1,300 tonnes of sulpher, 24,306 tonnes of cement and 50,721 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Fifteen ships namely Apl Balboa, YM Inventive, Thuringia Express, Martha Russ, Ainaftis, Noor-e-Madina, Adriatic Arrow, Santana, Lalazar, Chemroad Mega, Chemstar Brave, Iron Butterfly, Industrial Dream, Wajid Arab and Bow Prima sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Twelve vessels viz Caribbean Carrier, Alpha, YM Inventive, Martha Russ, Mare Thracium, Iron Butterfly, Industrial Dream, Wajid Arab, Muroto, Bow Prima, Alam Bitara and MT Johar are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Mare Thracium, Alam Bitara and Caribbean Carrier expected to sail on Monday while another five vessels viz Apl Brisbane, Sinar Bintan, Muroto, MT Johar and Sari are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Four vessel viz Apl Brisbane, Isara Bhum, Asian Queen and Blida due to arrive on Monday while nine ships namely Star Dream, Sun Geranium, Oriental Rose, Apl Sokhna, Cape Negro, Northern Harmony, X-Press Khyber, Shangor and Pheafan are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A total cargo volume of 45,660 tonnes including 38,208 tonnes of import 7,281 tonnes of export cargo and 661 containers (TEUs) was handled during last 24 hours on Monday. The cargoes comprised of 2,577 tonnes of wheat; 26,990 tonnes of furnace oil; 2,260 tonnes of palm oil; 2,031 tonnes of LPG; 2,829 tonnes of cement and 8,802 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Five ships namely MT Sulawesi Palm, MT Eastern Tera, MT Al-Salam-II, CV Sima Paya and CV MSC Germany sail out to sea during last 24 hours while two more ships MT Gas Sulawesi and MV Abyot are expected to sail on Monday afternoon. A total of eight ships namely Maersk Delmont, Maersk Carolina, Yin Gul, Sea Lion, Al-Soor-II, Coral, Al-Barella and Berd Yansk carrying containers, palm oil, furnace oil, diesel oil and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Eight vessels viz CV Sima Paya, CV MSC Germany, MV Abyot, MV Nobil, MV Tai Prosperity, MT Chemicals Progress, MT Stella and MT Gas Sulwesi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil, furnace oil and LPG respectively during the report period.
Container ship Maersk Carolina is expected to take berth at Qasim International Container Terminal on Monday. Two ships namely MV Leopard-B and MT Beach Galaxy scheduled to load/offload cement, and palm oil are due to arrive on Monday while another vessel viz MV Holy Light carrying 35,000 tonnes of wheat is due to arrive on Tuesday.
