Divisional Commissioner (DC) Zahid Saeed has directed the concerned officers that the special attention should be given on the removal of any technical and administrative obstacles in the execution of development projects being carried out following the directives of Chief Minister Punjab.
He warned that delay in the implementation of C M's directives regarding the uplift schemes would not be tolerated in any cost. He said this while presiding over a meeting here at his committee room to review the pace of implementation on the Chief Minister's directives which, were issued by Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif during his last visit to Faisalabad.
The Divisional Commissioner informed that the work on establishment of drug testing laboratory, import of relevant equipment and machinery and recruitment of the staff was in progress speedily while the classes of BDS students had already been started from January 26, 2009 in the Dental College which was set up in the Punjab Medical College under the approval of Shahbaz Sharif.
He also informed that the up-gradation project of General Hospital Ghulam Muhammadabad had been approved and funds of Rs 698 million had been allocated for the purpose. He said the estimates of Rs 65 million and preparation of maps for the establishment of Girls College at Samanabad had been finalised and the funds for the constructions of 11 important roads of the city would be received by the second week of the current month.
The Divisional Commissioner informed that the survey by the Nespak regarding the under passes projects would be completed during the current month while funds had been approved for the construction of Allied Hospital dual carriage road.
The representative of Wasa informed the meeting that the first instalment had been received for the Faisalabad Water Supply Sewerage and drainage programme which would be completed at a cost of Rs 297 million. It was informed that Rs 25 million have been sanctioned for the purchase of land in C Block Millat Town for the establishment of Government Poly Technique Institute while the preparation of site plan was in progress.
It was further informed that Rs 6 million had also been sanctioned for the water supply scheme in Dijkot. EDO Agriculture Rana Farman Ali informed the meeting that 84 Tractors, on subsidised rates had so far been delivered to the successful
Applicants, under the Chief Minister's Green Tractor Scheme. During the meeting the matters relating to the repair and rehabilitation work of RHC at Chak No 65/G.B, establishment of Girls Higher Secondary School near Sabzi Mandi, constructions of extension block of the residences for the Doctors of Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology and other staff and the C M's directive regarding the Sasti Roti Scheme were reviewed in detail. DCO Saeed Wahlah, Director General FDA Raja Safdar Hussain, Director Development Dr Tariq Sardar and Divisional and District Heads of the different provincial and district government departments attended the meeting.
