Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday assured full co-operation to the lawyers fraternity and urged them to chalk out solid strategy for a continuous sit-in in front of Parliament House till restoration of judiciary including deposed chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.
Addressing lawyers of twin cities regarding long march at Islamabad Bar Association, Qazi paid glowing tributes to lawyers for struggle and sacrifices they rendered for the independence of judiciary.
He said lawyers and journalists have passed their test and now politicians have to show their mantle. He urged all political parties to work together and participate in lawyers' long march to press the government for restoration of judiciary.
He also appealed to the nation to participate in the long march in large number, so that the government should understand what the people want. He said that independent judiciary is vital to end the crises and put the country on the path of progress.
"Although the nation would be engaged in the celebrations of Eid Milad-un-Nabi they are requested to take part in the struggle of lawyers for restoration of judiciary," he added. He lamented that there is no system in Pakistan what to talk of judiciary. The country is being run on US dictates. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Islama-bad, Syed Muhammad Bilal said that Jamaat-e-Islami fully supports lawyers' movement and it will leave no stone unturned in making the long march a success.
He said that JI raised voice against the unlawful act of Musharraf when he deposed the Chief Justice. "We are with lawyers and will fully back them till restoration of judiciary including deposed chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry," he maintained.
He said the government should take serious note of the situation in Fata, Swat and other parts of the country, saying that law and order is top need of people. Mian Muhammad Aslam, vice Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, Islamabad lauded the performance of lawyers, saying that the struggle should continue till the achievement of goal. He asked the nation to fully participate in the long march.
President IBA, Niazullah Khan Niazi Advocate urged people to actively participation in the long march. He expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of PPP government in resolving judicial crisis. He said that about 100,000 lawyers across the country would participate in the long march followed by long sit-in in front of parliament house.
