Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed here Thursday, in Faisalabad Division with full zeal and fervour, featuring large public rallies, seminars, human chains and many others events to express solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir.
The day is a regular annual event to support the indigenous freedom struggle of the people of occupied Kashmir, their right to plebiscite promised to them by the United Nations as well as to condemn Indian aggression on the held valley, its illegal occupation, its tyrannical rule and atrocities against the innocent Kashmiris.
The day is a public holiday in the country and all government offices, banks, educational institutions and businesses remain closed. Banners have been put up in bazars and streets to express solidarity with the Kashmiris. Rallies and processions were taken out in Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang and Chiniot Districts.
Major rally was taken out from Almarkaz-e-Islami Chiniot Bazar, which was arranged by the Jamat -e- Islami with the assistance of other religious parties. The Kashmir and Palestine solidarity rally was led by the provincial Niab Amir JI Punjab Zafar Jamal Balouch, along with the District Amir, Rai Muhammad Akram Khan Kharral, General Secretary Ghulam Abbas Khan, Moulana Javed Qasuri and other leaders of Jameet and Shabab-e-Milli.
Another big rally was taken out by the Women Wing of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), led by Anjum Safdar MPA, Mrs Munir Alam, Razia Joseph, Division Co-ordinator of Christian Women wing, Sara Shafqat and Ayesha Rana. A motorcycle rally was also taken out by the Sunni Tehrik, led by Muhammad Nasir Naqashbandi, Division Convenor ST, Moulana Amjad Latif Qadri and Professor Muhammad Asif Raza.
