Indus Motor Company (IMC) has organised 4th Career Day for graduating students of the Toyota Technical Educational Programme (T-TEP) in Karachi at St Patrick's Institute of Science Technology. Professor M Saeed Siddiqui, Chairman, Sindh Board of Technical Education was the chief guest on the occasion.
The other participants included representatives from the automobile industry, academic automobile vendors, dealers and representatives of Indus Motor Company and Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of Indus Motor Company and Toyota Motor Corporation (IMC), saying that T-TEP had worked to bridge the gap between industry and technical education. He appreciated the programme, which serves the community and is beyond any commercial consideration.
Koji Hyodo, Vice Chairman, IMC, highlighted the T-TEP programme at St Patricks Institute had been successfully running for the past four years. He stated that Toyota believes in Respect for People and Kaizen (Continuous improvement), with an aim to create a win-win situation for all the stakeholders, especially in human resource development.
Hyodo added that Toyota's global success has came through innovation, technology development, teamwork and recognising the market requirement. W Parvez Ghias, CEO, IMC, stated that the world has changed and the Global Economy is in recession.
The auto industry is amongst the hardest hit by the global economic downturn and Pakistan has seen an unprecedented decline in automobile sales. He emphasised that in this challenging environment after sale service is of even more importance. The knowledge gained by the T-TEP graduates should be effectively utilised for winning over customers through high quality service.-PR
