National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP), Lahore has recovered the stolen car within two hours of the theft after heavy exchange of fire near Kasowal Bridge on National Highway, here on Monday. According to details, control room of National Highways & Motorway Police received a wireless message from district control that two armed men stole a car number G-1568 in Chichawatni, which was parked outside the house.
The armed men along with suspicious car are moving towards Lahore on National Highway. The NH&MP wireless control flashed the message to all patrolling mobiles, makes them alert and instructed to keep eye on said car. After getting the message Patrolling Officer, Sher Dil Doger and Muhammed Nazir spotted the suspicious car and signalled driver to stop it.
The driver ignored the signal, enhanced its speed and tries to escape. However, the patrolling officer chased the car. On seeing the NH&MP vehicle, the riders left the car and flee towards jungle by making aerial firing near Kasowal Bridge. The local citizens and villagers highly appreciated the efforts of NH&MP.
According to the direction of Acting Sector Commander Abdul Khalil, the stolen car along with recovered stuff has been handed over to the local police for further investigation. In view of taking appropriate actions and showing act of bravery, Deputy Inspector General N-5 Central Syed Ibne Hussain awarded the accommodation certificates for patrolling officers.
