Dera Ghazi Khan bomb blast: Rs 2.5 million reward announced for identifying bomber
Police have announced a prize of Rs 2.5 million ($31,645) for those who identify or help in reaching to the culprits who had plotted suicide bombing in Dera Ghazi Khan. Police also published the sketch of the suspected suicide bomber in national dailies.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has immediately transferred Regional Police Officer Athar Mubarak, District Co-ordination Officer Captain (Retd) Asad-ullah Khan and District Police Officer Maqsood-ul-Hassan. Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa, Punjab Minister for Local Bodies told newsmen that Chief Minister had recommended to federal government to suspend the services of DPO for negligence of duty which caused the death of 33 innocent people.
DG Khan district co-ordination officer (DCO) has been demoted to the post of DPO and regional police officer has been made officer on special duty (OSD). Chief Minister issued orders to constitute a special team of professionals and capable officers for immediate arrest of culprits involved in the tragic suicide bombing in DG Khan. He also ordered the suspension of Special Branch superintendent of police Muhammad Nawaz and the concerned deputy superintendent of police (DSP).
