Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that government was trying hard to break the alliance between the political leaders to restrict the lawyers' movement. The PTI chairman while criticising the Zardari's regime said that corrupt people would not restore the judiciary in any case and in the absence of free judiciary.
The future of our country would become devastated, but the government should make it clear that the day of March 16 would be the day of actual democratic Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam. He said this while addressing a weekly meeting of lawyers before rally at Aiwan-e-Adal here on Thursday. Imran Khan said that lawyers' movement is not only the movement of legal fraternity but it is the movement of 160 million people of Pakistan.
He said that government was trying to use different tactics to stop the political parties' participation in the movement. After the election, only the faces of political rulers had been changed while the entire policies of Musharraf's regime still going on and added that he had opposed the election, knowing that it was the PCO and NRO election and only the face of Musharraf would be replaced.
He said that if Asif Ali Zardari forget his promises about the restoration of Chief Justice then he should at least remember the promise of late Benazir Bhutto that she had made outside the residence of Chief Justice. He said now PPP forget all of its promises, after winning the election due to the death of Benazir Bhutto.
He advised the lawyers to avoid the anti-movement lawyers' announcements because government was using this anti-movement campaign to restrict the movement. He further said that the co-ordination of lawyers with all other parties is necessary because without their co-ordination, lawyers' sit-in could be affected. He said that PPP's slogan of Roti, Kapra aur Makaan could never come true until an independent judiciary is not restored.
