Making country's defence impregnable by achieving self-reliance in defence sector and by upgrading and modernising the armed forces of the country is top most priority of the government, said Abdul Qayyum Khan Jatoi, Federal Minister for Defence Production here on Thursday.
Strong defence and fully equipped armed forces will help country to meet the emerging challenges and safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country, the minister said during his visit to Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), Kamra.
He said that the Armed Forces of Pakistan are fully capable to overcome the challenges being confronted b y the country. When Jatoi reached the PAC HQ he was received by the Chairman PAC. Kamra, Air Marshal Khalid Chaudhry, and other high ranking officials. The Chairman PAC briefed the Minister about the role and achievements of PAC as well as the status of different ongoing projects undertaken by it.
Air Marshal Khalid Chaudhry also briefed the Minister about the JF-17 Thunder Aircraft and particularly highlighted its combat potential and operational capability. The Minister visited Meraj and F-6 Rebuild Factories, Chinese Weaponry System and Avionics and Radar Factories. He deeply appreciated the efforts made by the engineers and technicians in enhancing the operational readiness of Pakistan Air Force as well as developing and strengthening the defence industry of Pakistan.
