Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has neglected its senior most workers while allotting the senate tickets like Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Awan former Federal Law Minister, Khalid Hanif Lodhi, District President, Syed Haider Abbas Gardezi, member federal council.
PPP has given a ticket to former speaker Syed Fakhar Imam that he has given to his daughter Sughra Imam. While second ticket was given to Malik Salahuddin Dogar who had lost the February election. Those tipped previously to be named as candidates but not included in the list are presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain, veteran party leader from Balochistan Sardar Mirbaz Khaitran and Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Shaukat Tarin.
The four retiring senators who did not make it to the PPP's list are Attorney General Latif Khosa, Enver Baig, Rukhsana Zubairi and Mumtaz Hussain Mehfooz. Having recently joined the ruling party, outgoing Senator Amin Dadabhoy was also not named as a party candidate. PPP announced the names of 27 candidates on Wednesday for the Senate elections scheduled for March 4. Only one of the five retiring PPP senators, Federal Law Minister Farooq Naik, made it to the fresh list.

The following is the complete list of the PPP's candidates: Sindh: Gul Muhammad Lot, Islamuddin Sheikh, Maula Buksh Chandio, Dr Khatumal Jeewan and Syed Faisal Raza Abidi for general seats; Farooq Naek and Dr Abdul Rehman Malik for technocrat seats; and Almas Parveen for the women's seat. NWFP: Gulzar Ahmed Khan, Waqar Ahmed Khan and Sardar Ali Khan for general seats; Adnan Khan for the technocrat seat; and Farhat Abbas for the women's seat. Punjab: Jahangir Badr and Salahuddin Dogar for general seats; Kazim Khan for the technocrat seat; and Sughra Imam for the women's seat.
Balochistan: Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, Aurangzeb Alamgir, Sabir Baloch, Suraya Ameeruddin, Hina Gulzar, Abdullah Moosazai and Sardar Tahir for general seats and Saifullah Paracha for the technocrat seat. Islamabad: Nayyar Hussain Bukhari (general seat) and Doctor Saeeda Iqbal (women's seat).
